Mini-Reel

January 23, 2013

A wee while ago I did some script editing on a film called Iain. You can see snippets of it in this Cherryman Media showreel. See if you can work out which parts are from it.

Rasputin

December 22, 2012

Hammer film review for The Zone.

Crows Zero II

September 25, 2012

With a title like that, it just has to be Takashi Miike. Review of lunatic youth-culture film over at The Zone.

The Squad

September 18, 2012

I’ve reviewed Colombian horror flick The Squad for The Zone.

Hugo

August 6, 2012

I’ve reviewed the latest Scorsese film for The Zone.

I get the feeling my reviewing style is starting to change. Don’t know if this is good or bad. The style, that is. The film is wonderful. My daughter described it as “Depressing and funny”. I think the word she was searching for was ‘melancholic’ since she was riveted by it.

Blood Runs Cold

May 11, 2012

Swedish slasher film review for VideoVista.

Resistance

April 15, 2012

Film review for The Zone.

Immortals

March 26, 2012

A film review for The Zone.

Kill List

January 23, 2012

A review for The Zone.

Next time you have some guests round for dinner and conversation maybe starts to flag a bit afterwards, why not put on this film? It’ll liven things up.

The Devil’s Kiss

January 10, 2012

A review of a horrible film for The Zone.

Sorry. A review of a horror film for The Zone.

Bunraku

November 14, 2011

A film review for The Zone.

The Man With The Severed Head

November 11, 2011

I review The Man With The Severed Head for The Zone.

It sometimes goes under the alias Crimson and it’s not an arthouse film. They don’t make ‘em like this any longer; you just can’t get the kipper ties these days.

Crowbar

November 5, 2011

I’ve reviewed low-budget horror flick Crowbar for The Zone.

Musashi

October 8, 2011

My review of Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai for The Zone.

Structurally, one of the weirdest films that I’ve seen.

Perfect Sense

September 25, 2011

My review of Perfect Sense for The Zone.

It’s the latest Glaswegian apocalypse film. We’ve now got our own subgenre. Watch in horror as the 44 bus grinds to a halt in Glassford Street! Shudder as street performers risk life and limb on the Clyde walkway!
